Professor Sam Rowlands

Sam Rowlands is a Visiting Professor at the Centre of Postgraduate Medical Research and Education, Bournemouth University. Sam has a background in clinical practice, first as a GP and then as a community sexual and reproductive health specialist and abortion provider. He has been an expert witness to the Civil Courts since 1995. Sam has published widely on abortion-related issues including a range of aspects of service provision and care, and edited Abortion Care (2014). He is a contributor to Decriminalising Abortion in the UK.

Sam is Secretary of the British Society of Abortion Care Providers, and has previously been Vice-President and Chair of two committees at the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health, President of the Royal Society of Medicine Section on Sexuality & Sexual Health and Secretary of FIAPAC.
